The 10 Commandments
Based on "This Is Not Marketing" - The 21st Century Marketing Manifesto
I. Thou shalt not mistake motion for progress
Posting daily is not strategy. Activity is not achievement.
II. Thou shalt not worship at the altar of vanity metrics
Followers, likes, and impressions mean nothing if they don't move your business forward.
III. Thou shalt not perform authenticity
Authenticity cannot be manufactured, scheduled, or scaled. It either exists or it doesn't.
IV. Thou shalt not sacrifice substance for speed
Better to say nothing than to say nothing well.
V. Thou shalt not optimize for the algorithm over the human
Serve your audience, not the machine.
VI. Thou shalt not rent what you should own
Build your own audience, your own platform, your own relationships. Stop sharecropping.
VII. Thou shalt not confuse noise with signal
In a world of infinite content, scarcity and selectivity are your competitive advantages.
VIII. Thou shalt not chase every trend
While others pivot to the platform du jour, focus on timeless principles that outlast algorithms.
IX. Thou shalt not measure what doesn't matter
If it doesn't connect to revenue, relationships, or reputation, stop tracking it.
X. Thou shalt not accept "because everyone else does it" as strategy
The fact that it's common doesn't make it effective. Question everything, especially the obvious.
We are not here to play the game. We are here to change the rules entirely.
